chapter 13: skincare routine
skincare is important.
i have skin.
so i care.
it’s that simple.
people always ask, “cake, what’s your skincare routine?”
first of all, stop asking me questions.
second of all, i’m glad you asked.
step 1: identify your skin type.
there are many types:
- oily
- dry
- combination
- sensitive
- mine
my skin is unique.
it reacts to things.
sometimes positively. sometimes emotionally.
step 2: wash your face.
i use water.
sometimes with soap.
depends on how serious i am about my future.
people say “don’t use soap on your face.”
these people clearly don’t believe in risk. if it's risky, it's an investment. and i am all about diversification, baby!
step 3: products.
this is where things get expensive.
i have:
- a cleanser
- a moisturizer
- something in a bottle i forgot the name of
- confidence
confidence is the most important one.
i apply products in layers.
more layers = more results. basic math.
step 4: hydration.
drink water.
or don’t.
i prefer external hydration.
why drink water when you can just… put it on your face?
very efficient. very sustainable. very water-cycle-friendly.
step 5: consistency.
do it every day.
or once a week.
or whenever you remember you have a face.
consistency is key.
i lose my keys a lot.
people say skincare is about discipline.
i say it’s about vibes.
some days you glow.
some days you reflect light aggressively.
science.
i once saw a video that said:
“your skin is a reflection of your inner health.”
which explains a lot.
and also explains nothing. i thought reflections and mirrors went together, not skin!
in conclusion:
- skincare is important.
- if your skin looks good, you win.
- everything has value if you look at it correctly.
everything is a phase. and some phases are more monetisable than others.
